1937 Crowns were minted to mark George VI coronation.
-
Mintage 1008000, 92.5% (sterling) silver, reeded edge, diameter 38.5mm, weight 28.27g, actual silver weight 0.8411 oz.
-
Obverse design T.H.Paget, Reverse design G.K.Gray.
-
Varieties of 1937 crown (known to me): Dot under I in ALIA, dot after G in K.G (K.G.), obverse die crack; partial obverse legend doubling.
-
Even though crowns were not popular when they were issued for circulation, it is quite difficult to find one in UNC condition (subject to different types of grading of course).
