Its a personal choice.

I guess it depends on your lifestyle and what you want to achieve.

Acrylic is more durable and solid. So for those who are using their hands a lot ie: dish washer, gardening, typing etc... Acrylic is definately the way to go.

Gel is more flexible and natural looking, however as stated, if you lead an active lifestyle they are more easily prone to bending and breaking.
