Easy Parcel Mailing via Australia Post

Items up to 500grams and items up to 3kg are easy to send via Australia Post Prepaid Parcel Post Satchels.

Cost for the satchels (current at June 2006) is $4.90 and $8.60 respectively.  If you are sending a lot of goods, discounts for bulk purchase of satchels is available.

Simply box your item with cardboard, I use pizza boxes usually, cut up, shape the 2 sides into a box, and tape together and then insert it into the satchel and voila, it's ready to go.  Remember when you weigh your goods, to allow for the weight of the cardboard - it can add around 100grams at least.  (Brown packing tape is the best as it sticks to the cardboard better than ordinary sticky tape.)  For added padding, scrunch up newspaper into balls and pack around the item - top, bottom and sides before inserting into your box.
