Condition Rating for CDs / DVDs / BDs

Purpose
This guide is used to establish the ratings of CD, DVD, or Blu-ray Disc (BD) media sales on e-bay.  The rating is derived from the USA ebay media ratings, and tailored for Australian use and expanded to BD.  The guide strives to find the middle ground between the technical and brief rating guides that exist elsewhere. 

Scope
Applicable to Music, Video, PC games, and Video games using CD, DVD, or BD media.  Note same ratings can be used for VHS although this is not detailed here.

Brand New
A brand new, unused, unopened & undamaged CD, video, PC game or video game in perfect condition. There are no holes or cuts in the barcode or jewel case. The original packaging and all materials are included and in brand new condition.

Like New
Item still in shrink wrap or looks as if it was just taken out of shrink wrap, no wear and tear.  The original packaging and all materials are included and in as new condition.

Very Good
No damage at all to jewel case or item cover (no scuff marks, no scratching, no cracks or holes), cover art and liner notes included,  DVD box included, video game instructions and box included, teeth of disk holder undamaged, minimal wear and tear to exterior of item, no skipping on CD/DVD/BD.

Good
Minor damage to jewel case (scuffs or cracks) or item cover (scuff marks, scratching, or cracks), cover art and liner notes included for a CD, DVD box included, video game instructions included, no skipping on CD/DVD/BD.

Fair
Tear or hole in DVD box, video game instructions and box not included. Fully viewable.

Unacceptable [Not Used]
No jewel box for CD, no box sleeve for DVD, skipping, item is not fully useable.

Other Terminology

BD: Blu-ray Disc (Video).

CD: Compact Disc (Music or PC Game).

DVD: Digital Video Disc (Video), or Verstile Virtual Disk (PC Game or Videogame).

Skipping: The music, video, or game shows noticeable signs of missing information which can be seen or heard.
