While the DS is turned off, take a clean, soft, DRY cloth and gently use it to wipe off the sensors. Do not use any water or canned air (don't blow in it!). When there isn't a game loaded, be sure to use the plastic port covers that came with the DS to avoid dirt and dust getting in it in the future.
