Hello E-bayers
Ok, some of you may have been lucky so far not to recieve spam in your E-bay box. The rest of us have suffered with it and it is so damn annoying.
It usually starts with
"Hello friend, sorry to annoy you blah blah blah...come to my webpage and spend your money on items that do not exist."
If you are unsure whetehr these people are legit, simply check their feedback. They will have a feedback score of "1" which will consist of a very very low ( if not free) priced item from someone who also has the same feedback score of "1". No doubt they will be situated in China and their E-bay handle will consist of gibberish.
Ok, so what to do?
I am sure each member has their own way of dealing with it but here is what I am now doing. If enough of us do the same, it may not stop them completly but it will restrict them a little.
1) Do not reply.
2) Click on the link at the bottom right hand side that says:
" Is this email inappropriate? Does it violate ebay policy? Help protect the Community by reporting it"
3) When the new window opens, either choose the "SPAM" or "HARRASMENT" choice. You didnt ask them to email you and as they are trying to sell outside of E-bay, they are technically harrasing you.
4) Go back to MY E-BAY and click on the SITE MAP link ( top right hand corner)
5) scroll down to "SELLING ACTIVITIES" ( middle Column) and click on the "BLOCK BIDDER/BUYER LIST"
6) Type his E-bay handle in .
7) Go back to enjoying your E-bay experience :-)
If enough of us do this, maybe....just maybe we can minimise the spam and protect our newbies.
I hope this was some help
