Leaving feedback - be a good buyer!

Leaving and receiving feedback is an important part of the eBay process. A high feedback rating can increase your sales and allow potential buyers to trust you more, which is why it is so frustrating when buyers don't leave feedback for sellers.

I started selling on eBay at the beginning of the year. Now it is March and I still have not received any feedback for some of the items I sold in my first week. Why? 

It isn't because the buyers did not receive or did not like the items, otherwise they would have complained by now. When I checked the buyers' profiles, I could see that despite making lots of purchases and receiving feedback from sellers, they had not left any feedback in months!

I could understand if they hadn't checked eBay since winning my items, but they were making purchases on a weekly basis!

Leaving feedback is easy and takes only a few seconds. Sellers really appreciate good feedback as it not only boosts their profile, it gives them the peace of mind that the item has arrived safely and is to the buyer's satisfaction.

If I purchase something from eBay, I leave feedback almost as soon as it has been received.  I believe it is common courtesy and also makes you look better as a buyer.

That said, if you aren't happy with an item you have purchased, contact the seller and explain the situation. Perhaps it can be easily resolved (rather than leaving negative, neutral or no feedback).

Leaving prompt positive feedback or contacting the seller if you have a problem will lead to a much more pleasant experience for everyone.

Finally, leaving prompt positive feedback is always going to be more accurate as you will remember the details of the experience. What made the seller stand out? Was it their good communication, fast postage or both? Did the item exceed your expectations? Did they upgrade your postage or offer a discount you weren't expecting? Please leave feedback before you forget the details. Your seller and future buyers will greatly appreciate it.
