The reality is, once you start selling on eBay, you're charged with a fees. If you're like me, you'd want to minimise expenses to maximise profits for your business. There are many obvious ways to avoid paying more fees. I have put different topics into their respective categories and ways to use each one more effectively and efficiently.
Borders and Highlights
Putting borders and highlighs is an excellent way to make your listing stand out from the crowd. However, there are exceptions. A border costs $2.50 and a highlight is $3.00. Using one or the other is good if the item your selling is worth a lot (a Sony Vaio laptop) but if your selling a postage stamp (worth 30cents), you're better off leaving it as it is. If you'd want to spend less but still attract potential buyers, just choose one. One of these is enough to make your listing stand out (unless everyone is using them in your item's respective category). Just make sure that what your selling is worth more than a border or a highlight if you'd really like to maximise profits.
Subtitles
Using a subtitle increases the number of potential buyers. Using it effectively means you'd get more for your money. The title of your listing should be very descriptive. The subtitle should only be used as means for describing your items more effectively. Avoid using phrases such as 'WOW' and L@@K as people don't type these in the keyword search area.
Bold
Personally, I don't think making a bold title attracts more buyers. I've used it on two identical items and it didn't make much of a difference. Just stay with the border and/or a highlight if you're serious about attracting more buyers. On the plus side, you'd save time and money if you don't use a bold title.
This is all I can think of so far! I'll edit it along the way. Thanks for reading.
