Have you seen these being advertised on Ebay and other metal deting sites? They look like a box with some sort of Antenna sticking out of them. They can also look like a metal box with a metal probe and can even have a $2.00 Chinese calculator lumped on top. Let me tell you that LRL is a HUGE Scam. There is no way that some electronics that is powered by a 9 volt battery is going to detect any metal at greater than a couple of feet. Some of the terminology used is just to baffle you with BS. The one that made me laugh the hardest was a guy stating that the unit worked by picking up the "Molecular Frequency of Metals" What a load of Crap! These phrases are made up to sound good, Molecular- Everything is made of Molecules if its big enough to see with your eyes, so what about the Molecular Frequency of Cancer Cells? Just dial it in and we have a way of detecting Cancer....BS! The antenna is a classic confidence trick, everyone must thing that an antenna picks up signals right? But hang on we need power to make the Signals in the first place, So there must be big lumps of Gold in the ground connected to the electricity grid transmitting on the Radio spectrum for the magic antenna to pick up...lol Can you see where this is going? There are electomagnetic locators but they are worth a few hundred thousand to buy, they work only with an Aircraft trailing a very long wire array from the back of the plane. They transmit a huge Signal and then receive the decay spectum from the ground. There is no way a handheld device running from a 9 volt battery would even get half an inch into the ground.
Beware of the HYPE and let common sense prevail.
