'Memoirs of a Geisha' was written by Arthur Golden and has been made in an epic film by the same director who produced 'Chicago' (itself an Academy Award winning film).

It is the story of a girl taken from her family and forced into working as a servant within a Geisha house. Set pre-World War 2 it follows the story of Sayuri who grows into a beautiful young women groomed to become a top Geisha.

Her struggles to overcome jealousy from the other Geisha within the house are powerful and make for dangerous enemies who are set to bring her down and ruin her credibility.

Suryi captivates many powerful men but finds the love of her love at a very young age and is unable to forget him. Fate brings them together again on several occasions but it is only after the outbreak of World War 2 that she realises his true feelings for her.

This stars Ziyi Zhang (House of Flying Daggers, Hero) Ken Watanabe (Batman Begins, Last Samurai) and Michelle Yeoh (Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragon, Tomorrow Never Dies).

 The film has beautiful cinematography and is a joy to watch - enjoy!
