Gameboy Original / Gameboy Pocket / Gameboy Light
Gameboy Color
Plays Original Gameboy games and Gameboy Color games. Cartridges look similar to the Original games except imprinted with 'Gameboy Color' and the area of the imprint curves outwards as opposed to it being flat on the Original.
Gameboy Advance
Plays all Gameboy Original and Color games along with newly designed Gameboy Advance cartridges. Approximately half the size of an Color/Original cartridge.
Gameboy Advance SP / SP II
Same compatibility as Gameboy Advance.
Gameboy Micro
Plays only Gameboy Advance games. Original and Color games do not fit the cartridge slot nor does the console contain the hardware to play them.
DS / DS Lite
Plays only Gameboy Advance games and newly designed DS cartridges. DS carts are slightly bigger than an SD card and are by far the smallest game cartridges released by any manufacturer. Once again, Original and Color games do not fit nor does the hardware have the capability to play them.
DSi
Plays only DS cartridges - no slot is available for Gameboy games.
