There is only one Nokia N95 that will work on the NextG network. This phone usually has a silver front and a black back. The only positive way to identify is to remove the battery and read the numbers. Must have N95-3 and RM160 listed. This phone has the hardware necessary to operate on the 850 WCDMA.
The first Nokia in this series looks identical bus has N95-1 and RM159 listed under the battery and this will only operate on the 2100 frequency which is 3G only available in most capital cities.
They both has GSM capabilities and can be run on dual mode, but that is no good to you outside of the main towns.
