HI THERE

We have been selling Pakula Lures and Game Fishing Tackle on Ebay for a good many years now. We thought it appropriate that we share some of
our rigging knowledge with our customers and general buyers on ebay. The purpose of this tutorial is to show you how to rig a Pakula 6 inch Lure. The lures in the Pakula range that are appropriate are the UZI, FLUZI and SPROCKIE lures. Any other 6 inch lure you find on Ebay will run well if rigged the same way.

All of the materials in this guide can be found in our EBAY STORE under rigging

You will need:-

  • One Pakula 6 inch Lure - Fluzi, Uzi or Sprockie. Other lure brands like MBT, Meridian, Hollowpoint work just as well with this rig.
A length of 200lb 49 Strand Stainless wire - Length of the skirts is about right
100-150lb leader ,Jinkai, Momoi or whatever you prefer
    Two 5/0  Stainless Hooks
Copper crimps to suit 200lb wire  1.2 to 1.6mm copper crimps
Alloy crimps to suit 100-150lb leader , 1.2-1.3mm
Heat Shrink in 3mm, 5mm and 6mm sizes
    A 1.55mm Stainless armour spring
Some Crimpers and Wire cutters,  many crimpers have these built in

STEP 1.

Cut some 200lb wire so that its approx the length of the skirt of the lure. This should make the whole rig
fit nicely. You may need to experiment the first couple of times. Crimp the bottom hook onto the
wire forming a loop.

STEP 2.

Use some 3mm heat shrink to cover the crimp and shrink it using a lighter or heat gun.
Then put a short piece of 6mm heat shrink down over the top of the eye of the hook. You really
don't want the trailing hook swinging on a lure this small. We've shown that hookup rates are
just as high with a fixed hook.

STEP 3.

Form a loop in the top of the wire, big enough for the 1.55mm Armour spring to go through, and then
crimp this using another copper crimp.

STEP 4.

Grab a 20mm length of 5mm Heat Shrink and place it over the second hook and the wire

STEP 5.

Shrink it down so the hook and wire are tight

STEP 6.

Thread the leader through a crimp and the armour spring. Then thread the armour spring through the hook and wire loop.
Crimp is all tight and the rig is finished.

STEP 7.

Thread it through the back of the Pakula Lure. Pulling the rig snug.

STEP 8.

Crimp a line protector onto the top of the leader using another crimp.

STEP 9.

Go and enjoy your fishing with your finished Pakula Lure !
