Shabby it yourself you'll feel very rewarded!!
If you have some old Furniture and you want to jazz it up a little or give a new lease on life, why not give it a shabby look. This can be acheived by first giving the peice light sand just to rough up the surface.
The you can spray or paint brush on a product called Cover Stain. This is a thick undercoat paint, helps to reduce the pink staining that can happen with old glazed & stained furniture. Once this is fully dry I then give three coats of Dulux Antique White USA paint in a semi gloss. If you are more ointo a creamy colour then Antique white (without the USA on the end) is a great colour it's a lovely creamy colour very warm
Once th item is fully dried (allow 2 days) I then get some fine grade (100) sand paper and gently run over the edges to give it the distressed look.
You can then seal with a varnish, Personally I dont but it's up to you. Vella done, you now have a furniture peice that has been given a new lease on life & youve done it yourself!!
