• I was a Youth worker for seven and a half years with extremely volatile teens in Australia. It was a very taxing job and was very stressful. However I loved doing this work so my advice to anyone who is working in this field is to always take time out for yourself. Just you. Pamper yourself at least once a week. Go get a massage or read a good book.  Shut yourself in a quiet room and lay down with some relaxation music or better still have a bubble bath with the relaxation music going in the bathroom but for goodness sake don't put anything electrical near the bath you may get a very nasty shock or worse. Make sure on paydays you reward yourself. Forget about the family on this one as sometimes you can spend all your pay into the house. DON'T feel guilty when you go and buy yourself a special treat.  YOU HAVE EARNED IT.

At least that way you can see you are gaining something from your hard work.
